She tried to turn england back to catholic religion after dissolution of monostries by Henry VIII because he wanted to marry Anne Boleyn Mary married king philip II of spain in 1554. He used his power to influence english politics and religion. Mary was not liked and not successful queen and died in 1558 |

The spanish panicked and set sail into the english channel were the english navy were waiting to attack. English ships were fast and armed with cannons they damaged their ships and around 1000 spaniards killed. the spanish tried to sail back but were hit by storm and thousands drowned.
