"Roman peace." A 200+ year period of unbroken public peace in the Roman Empire, started by Augustus. For 200 years people were in peace, only some Jewish revolts being upstarts where the army would fight. This would be called Pax Romana (Roman Peace) and lasted for centuries. Around 100 AD- reigning families died out and people brought back the idea of Republic, starting with Nerva in 96 and Marcus Aurelius who died in 180 AD. |

Augustus(great and holy one), he commanded the soldiers and kept them on the borders to keep barbarians out. He set up Rome like the old days, with senates and magistrates, and also got police and firemen set up. While it seemed nice, Augustus had scores & states people appointed by allowing them to be nominated, so it was a trick |
