Shang's succeeded the Hsia Dynasty from 1523 to 1028 B.C.E. The third and final capital, Anyang, was found in the late 1920s, and was designed on a rectangular pattern with entry gates in the middle of each side and to main streets that crossed in the center. Capital had horses and chariots, bronze weapons, and short reinforced bows. Founded by men who mastered the skills of chariot warfare. Big in writing, and religion and family life were important. |

The Scythians were calvary men who exploited the speed of their horses and the accuracy of their arrows. Using horses for calvary was a new idea at the time. Stirrups were made so that calvarymen could shoot from horseback with a bow, and not lose control of the horse. First records of it used in battle was from the Assyrian army around 875 B.C.E. Assyrians paved the way. |
