United all of the Mediterranean basin under a single military power in 30 B.C.E. Personally commanded most of the Roman armies. In 27 B.C.E. he restored the Republic in which he restored the procedures of electing magistrates and consulting the Senate on matters of importance. Also organized police and fire services for the city of Rome and took charge supplying the city with grain. |
