Definition
A noun that modifies another noun.  Usually conveys possession and can be translated with the word "of".  A Latin noun in the genative case usually follows the noun it modifies (-ae, ārum).

Definition
Marks a thing indirectly affected by the action of a verb, most commonly indirect objects.  Mostly determined by the use of "to" or "for" (-ae, īs).

Definition
The direct object of the action of the verb, the thing directly affected by the verb.  It can also be used for the object of certain prepositions: ex. to, into, after, behind (-am, ās).

Definition
"adverbial case".  Used to modify, or limit, the verb by such ideas as means, agent, accompaniment, manner, place, and time.  Used with Latin prepositions ab, by, from; cum, with; and ex, from; in, in, on (-ā, -īs).

Used to adress a person or thing directly, sometimes with the interjection Ō.  For the most part, the vocative has the same form as the nominative (-a, -ae).
