This is Hobbes idea if there were no government or laws and everyones had absolute freedom. This would be the result of no authority, everyone would fight for his or herself and everyone would potentially be afraid of each other or even going out the door. We all sign basically a silent contract that says we will give up some of our rights to have a sense of security. |
