No Tone, rushing air

Cause:  Lips not together (spread aperture)

Remedy:  Re-form and maintain "B" positions with lips.

Cause:  Too much pucker in lips (oo shape)

Remedy:  Re-form and maintain "B"

Cause:  Dry lips, dry mouthpiece.

Remedy: Lick lips, inside of mouthpiece.

Cause:  Insufficient air to make lips vibrate.

Remedy:  Review "Sigh" breath;  use faster air.

Airy Tone

Cause:  Lips not together (spread aperture)

Remedy:  Re-form and maintain B position with lips.

Cause:  Too much pucker in lips (oo shape)

Remedy:  re-form and maintain "B"

Tight, thin, pinched tone

Cause:  Tense, excessively pursed lip formation (biting).

Remedy:  Relax:  re-form "B" but de-emphasize lip pursing.

Cause:  Too much pucker in lips.

Remedy:  re-form "B" but emphasize no pucker.

Cause:  Tight, closed throat

Remedy:  Review "sigh" breath;  suggest yawn with head up.

Stopped (restricted throat or buzz)

Cause:  Tense, excessively pursed lip formation.

Remedy:  Relax, re-form "B", but de-emphasize lip pursing.

Cause:  Too much mouthpiece pressure toward lips.

Remedy:  Relax left hand grip;  no right hand little finger hook.

Cause:  Tight, closed throat

Remedy:  Review "sigh" breath;  suggest yawn with head up.
