- Sucking and rooting reflexes very important
- Fixation in this stage can cause problems eating, drinking, biting nails or talking to much/too little

- Fixation in this stage can caues one of two responses:
- Anal retentitive: OCD, neat (caused by parent being too particular during toilet training)
- Anal expulsive: messy, good-hearted (caused by parent being too lenient about toilet training)
