Definition

Definition: May, 1935 - the U.S Supreme Court delcared the National Industrial Recovery Act unconstitutional. It held that Congress had improperly delegated legislative authority to the National Industrial Recovery Administration and that the federal government had exceeded its jurisdiction because it was not engaged in interstate commerce.

Definition: started in May 1935 it employed people for 30 hours a week (so it could hire all the unemployed). The Federal Arts Project had unemployed artists painting murals in public buildings; actors, musicians, and dancers performing in poor neighboorhood; and writers compiling guide books and local histories.
