*Wipe off surgery lights, tables, stands, waste receptacles prior to sx. Make sure there is ample time for dust particles to settle. (Clean from cleanest to dirtiest – sx lights, table before waste can, bottom of table/mayo stand) *recognize that sweeping with a broom increases airborne dust particles. It would be better to use a canister vacuum with a filter. *Mops are incredibly yucky! - don’t let mop stand in water - use double bucket technique (mop into disinfectant – floor – clean – water bucket – disinfectant – floor – repeat.) *If at all possible use disposable cloths or sponges, or at least launder daily. *Line waste baskets *periodically wipe down walls, ceilings, vents
Spot clean between cases *wipe down tables between cases, clean up floor debris (blood, hair, etc) *dispose of waste *rinse blood off instruments/linens (could be corrosive on instruments) *clippers cleaned
Restock *rotate stock |
