Stamp Act- 1765 Taxes put on newspapers, pamphlets and legal documents. Colonists opposed to it and it was repealed. Townshend Acts- 1767 Charles Townshend forced taxes on the tea and British goods. The colonists boycotted them. Boston Massacre- 1770 The colonists were angry about the taxes. Soldiers came to control Boston They became confused and the soldiers killed five colonists. Boston Tea Party- 1773 The Son's of Liberty dumped tea into Boston Harbor disguised as Indians. Intolerable Acts- 1774 Taxes that Britian forced on the colonists as a result of the Boston Tea Party. British banned toen meetings and forced the soldiers to be housed and fed in Boston homes. The colonists also had to pay for the tea. |
