Transparent Background:

Use this feature to be able to "reach through" the SMART Notebook and interact with any other computer application. You get the functionality of two programs at once.

Floating Tools Tab:

Click on the double arrows of the Floating Tools to access a variety of drawing and capture tools.

Attachments Tab:

You can attach any type of document to your Notebook file.

Add Page Tool:

Click on this button and a new, blank page will be inserted into your Notebook file. It will be inserted after the page you are currently viewing.

Dual Screen Tool:

By clicking on this tool, the two pages that are next to each other will be displayed at the same time. Clicking on the same button will take you out of dual screen view. While in dual screen view you can move objects from one page to another.

Gallery Tab:

Clicking on this tab will open up the collection of interactive activities, pictures, videos, sounds, backgrounds, and tools that come with the Notebook software.  

Measurement Tools:

Four measurement tools are available while in SMART Notebook. The ruler, protractor, compass and geodreieck are easy tools to use. Learn more-

Page Sorter Tab:

Click on this tab to see all the pages that are in your file. You can drag and drop pages into different order.

Paste Tool:

Click this button to paste whatever you have just copied to you computer's clipboard.

Properties Tab:

You can change the properties of the objects on your Notebook page in this tab. Change things like background color, text style, line color, object animation, etc.

SMART Response Tab:

You'll have this tab in Notebook if you have SMART Response software installed on your computer. Use this tab to include assessment questions into your lesson. The questions get answer by your students using handheld clickers.

Screen Capture Tool:

Use this tool to capture an image of anything, anywhere on your computer screen. The image gets inserted on a Notebook page.

Shapes Tool:

Use this tool to draw different shapes on your Notebook page.

Text Tool:

Set six different default texts. Ones that you will use frequently so that you don't have to type something and then change the style every time.

Select Tool:

"Once a tool, always a tool!"

If you want move, or select an object in Notebook you must first make sure you are the "select tool".
