Describe the SAI policy on hazing and preinitiation behavior |

hazing is defined as "any action or situation that recklessly or intentionally endangers mental or physical health or any action taken or situation created which produces mental or physicaldiscomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule" Such activities and situationa inclued road trips, public wearing of apparel which is conspicuous and not normally in good taste, engaging in public stunts, and late work sessions which interfere with scholastic activities.
SAI, wiht all members of hte Professional Fraternity Associaiton, condemns the hazing of prospective initaites. We also affirm and support the National Pan Helenic Council in their efforts to abilish the pracitce ofusing line names, line numbers, families, famiy trees,and lik,e practices by Greek organizations.
SAI recognizes and affirms that the pre-iniation period is a time for education for the candidate, and a time for the promotion of professionalism, ethics, and dignity thourhg exposrue tothe privileges and responsibilits of membership as exhibited by our colegiate and alumnae chapters. |
