        Dull / sl. Burning / Scorching pain of epigastric region & Stomach duct

·         Clamoring Stomach (feeling of uncomfortable emptyness / burning)      Hunger w/ no desire to eat / no appetite/ swift digestion w/ increased appetite

·         dry vomit / retch / hiccups

·         Dry mouth & Throat, esp in afternoon, desire to drink in small sips

·         Dry stool constipation

·         after eating feels full/ distention/ glomus 

·         Thirsty, able to drink

·         possibly wasting thirst    

  Dysphasia-occlusion (obstructed esophagus causing choking, vomiting)

ST Yin Vacuity

Tongue: normal or red

 little / no coat in Center or rootless 

Yin collapse tongue: Red-Crimson, Bare & Bright 

Pulse: Thready & Rapid / Superficial Deficient, right mid position

·         Uncomfortable feeling in the epigastrum

·         lack of appetite

·         lack of taste sensation

·         loose stools

·         tiredness, esp. in morning

ST Qi Vacuity

·         feeling worse after swallowing cold fluids, which are quickly vomited           

·         feeling of cold & cold limbs

·         preference for warmth &  warm liquids

Tongue: thick white coating  

Pulse: deep-Tense-slow  

·         Nausea

·         difficulty swallowing

·         belching

ST Rebelling Upwards

Pulse: Tense or StringTaut (rt. Mid) 

·         feeling of fullness and pain of the epigastrum

·         blocked nose or thick sticky nasal discharge

Tongue: red, sticky yellow coat 

Pulse: Rolling & Rapid 

·         Fullness/ distention/ pain of epigastrium/ ST Duct / abdomen - Relieved by vomiting

·         Nausea

·         vomiting of sour fluids

·         foul breath

·         sour regurgitation

·         rotten belching

·         insomnia

·         diarrhea with complete food / constipation

Food Retention / Stagnation in ST

Tongue: Thick Yellow/ White  Slimy coat  

Pulse: Excess & Rolling

·         severe stabbing epigastric pain that may be worse at night

·         dislike of pressure

·         nausea

·         vomiting
