4. Background of Roman Colosseum: Built in 80 A.D, The Roman Colosseum is a large amphitheater where Romans found great entertainment. Most Romans would come here to watch the gladiators either battle other gladiators or sometimes animals. This massive colosseum can hold up 80,000 people! Surrounding the colosseum are arches. There are a total of 80 entrance ways around the bottom of the colosseum. With 80 arches, this gigantic structure can be clear of 80,000 people in only 10 minutes. |
