= the body and blood of Christ at communion as well as the entire church In the Eucharist: a) There is a new order which anticipates and celebrates the complete union with God. b) There is a new law which is the law of Christ’s love. c) There is a communion with Christ which is a participation in the reality of His life and mission. d) Christ unites Himself with us, loves us unconditionally, and focuses us on the truth of salvation. e) There is a bond with Christ that requires an inner unity among His followers. f) This imposes on us the obligation of service for His sake.
The Eucharist is a sacrament of unity and love; it teaches us and forms us. The Celebration of the Eucharist is also called the mass. The fullness of the Church is the Eucharist. |
