Revolution: Many internal struggles began in Europe causing many to flee to America as governments were in chaos 4. Who came: A new area of immigration was from eastern Europeans, Asia, and Middle East Africa 5. Who came in large numbers: Scandinavians, Germans 6. Fears about Immigrants: They could run for office and change American society, The Know Nothing party was created- Wanted to limit immigration and stop them from voting or running for office |
