Verifying DEA Number 

• First letter is A, B, F, or M and the second letter is the first letter of the physician's last name.
• Add 1st, 3rd and 5th numbers together, then add 2nd, 4th and 6th numbers together, multiply this number by 2 and add it to the first number. The last number in this sum should be the last number of the DEA number
