What happens if you do not get all your credits by your biennium? |

Definition
Consequences for not getting your CE's are probation. Probation begins on the 1st day of the birth month & lasts until the last day of the 6th month. If credits are acquired during probation then you send in a Probation Report Form and a $50 fee. |

After the 6th month if you have not acquired your missing CE's then your registration is dropped & you must either re-exam or re-qualify depending on the length of time passed |

CE's can be acquired by courses approved through a RCEEM, KY Radiation Operator Branch is a RCEEM, through the ASRT, through a Primary exam and also a Post-Primary exam. |

Yes. You are required to maintain proof of completion because upon renewal you will fill out a CE report form. At random, radiographers are selected to send documentation of proof (like an audit). Or you may belong to a reporting agency such as ASRT. |

A General Radiation Operator only can be employed at a facility that has contrast studies, fluoroscopy studies, nuclear medicine, or radiation therapy proceduces.
Basically they are qualified to work anywhere in healthcare with x-ray equipment. |

A Limited Radiation Operator can only do routine chest & thorax, cranium, extremity, podiatric, vertebral column and bone densitometry. Basically they can only work in a doctors office like Chiproctic (like a CNA). |

The initial application for certification fee is $25 (this fee is for all radiographers)
For a general or limited certification the fee is $35 every two years

Kentucky does have CE requirements. A radiographer must have 24 clock hours of credits approved by the cabinet and must send evidence of participation to the cabinet within 45 days. |
