-*prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic disorders and embolic complications due to atrial fibrillation or cardiac valve replacement

Mechanism of action: heptatic synthesis of coagulation factors II, VII, IX, and X, protiens C & S, requires vitamin K. vitamin K converted to inactive form
