Function:

• support and protect the body
• assist in movement
• store minerals
• house the cells that produce red and white blood cells

Lymphatic System

• lymphatic vessels
• structures or organs (spleen and lymph nodes) containing lymph tissue. 

Function:

• Cleans & returns tissue fluid to the blood
• destroys pathogens that enter the body

Urinary System

Function:

• filters waste products from the blood
• regulates volume & pH of the blood

Respiratory System

Structure:

• lungs
• pharynx

Function:

• Exchange oxygen & carbon dioxide between the air and the blood.

Reproductive System

• organs that produce, store and transport reproductive cells (sperm and ova)

Function:

• produces sperm or ova
• in women, provides a site for the developing embryo/fetus

Digestive System

Function:

• breaks down and absorbs food for use by cells
• Ingestion, Digestion, Absorption & Assimilation
• eliminates solid and other waste

Muscular System

Function:

• assists in movement
• maintaining posture
• producing heat

Immune System

Nervous System

Cardiovascular System
