Mongolian blue spots, on back or butt, common in assian, hispanic, and african descent. fade during 1st or 2nd year of life.
Nevus Flammeus (port wine stain) is a capillary angioma directly below the epidermis. does not fade with time, or grow in size. may have convulsions or other neurologic problems suggesting Sturge-Weber syndrome.
Nevus Vasculosus (strawberry mark) is a capillary hemangioma. grows rapidly during the second or third week of life, and once peak growth is reached will begin to shrink. |
