Definition
- Rapid, random bilateral/asynchronus jerking, may be forceful and rhythmic
- All stages of sleep
- Not seen during wakefulness
- Seconds-minute or even hours in sleep
- EEG normal (baseline AND during events)
- Disappears by late infancy
