A:  Bilaterally- flexion of trunk, compression of abdominal contents
Unilaterally- lateral flexion, rotation of trunk to opposite side
 
N:  Ventral rami of intercostal n.'s T7-T12, L1 (L1 = iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal n.'s)
 
 
Internal Obliques
 
O: Inguinal ligament, anterior iliac crest, thoracolumbar aponeurosis
 
I:  Costal cartilages of lower 4 ribs (9-12), abdominal aponeurosis and linea alba
 
A:  Bilaterally- flexion of trunk, compression of abdominal contents
Unilaterally - lateral flexion, rotation of trunk to same side
 
N:  Ventral rami of intercostal n.'s T8-T12, L1 (L1 = iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerve)
