Why do you feel dizzy after you stop spinning around in a circle? |
|
Definition
- Upon original rightward head rotation the fluid moves to the left, depolarizing the cell (fluid moves towards the kinocillium).
- The fluid catches up to the head and rotates at the same rate decreasing it's firing rate.
- When you stop spinning and the head becomes stable the fluid is still moving away from the kinocillium, hyperpolarizing the cell resulting in SSC stimulation post rotation.
