What's another name for a subordinate clause?

A clause that can't stand alone without a main or independent clause. A subordinate clause is led by a subordinator.

A subordinate clause is also known as a DEPENDENT CLAUSE.

What is a preposition?

A word that indicates a relationship between the object (usually a noun) and something else in the sentence.

In some cases, prepositions can consist of more than one word.

e.g. of, in, to, for, with, on, by, at, from, as, into, about, like, after, between, through, over, against, under, out of, next to, upon

How do you find the subject of a sentence if it is hidden?

1/ Ignore all the words that are NOT the subject.

2/ Eliminate middlemen (words between the subject and the vebr) & Skip the warmup (words put in front of the subject).

3/ If you can remove a phrase from the sentence and it still makes sense, the phrase is likely to be a middleman or warmup.
