Used to collect semen that tries to enter the vagina. It also prevents the sharing of blood. It has 2 rings, one on each end, and is made from polyurethane. Advantages: protects the vagina, can be inserted hours before intercourse, and is stronger than the male condom. Disadvantages: Does not reduce male stimulation, can be very fiddly, and it costs 3 time the price of a male condom. |

- shaped like a T
- cylinder on stem which contains progestrongen
- cylinder has a membrane that regulate dosage of the progestrongen into the womb
- Advantages: 99% effective; latst a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 8 years; fertility comes back quickly after removal; can be forgotten about after inserting
- Disadvantages: Must be inserted by a doctor; small risk of infection;does not proptect against STIs; can fall out
