Definition

Men - 40 (May have dies due to hunting injuries)

Women - 20 (Mainly died in pregnancy)

Definition
The leg would have been covered in mud and leaves until the mud set hard and the leg healed. The patient would most likely still walk with a limp.

Definition
Taking the patient to see a medicine man, who would dance and sing a chant to put the patient to sleep. Then he would bend over the sick body and massage, then he would shout at the spirits to come out.

There are no written records but there are two important sources of evidence.

 

1.Archaeological (Skeletons which showed surgery, height of death etc)

2. People who continued to live in the same way as their ancestors (Some tribes did not need to change their way of life)

Definition
Herbs and plant remidies were used to treat illness and it was the women of the time who were responsible for day to day health care and to use these remidies in the partient. They were mainly used as an antiseptic and as a basis for cough medicine.
