eg. The River Nile helped medical progress as when it flooded each year it covered the land with fertile soil - a perfect place to harvest good crops. These crops helped to improve the diet of the people and allowed international trade of medicines. This made Egypt very wealthy and the money could be spent on specialist doctors and medicines. The river also provided the means to create Papyrus on which details of medical cases and treatments and new terminology was recorded for future generations of doctors to learn from. Farmers also helped the development of new ideas through the channels dug to bring water from the River. suggesting that is a persons body channel got blocked they would become ill. Although not entirely correct ideas like this became important to move away from supernatural belief..... |

| They took great care to keep clean. Washing twice daily and every night in cold water. Ladies showered and used green copper ore as eye make-up which may well have prevented eye infections but that was not why they wore it! |
