Classification: Thiazide diuretic, antihypertensive.
Uses: Treatment of mild to moderate hypertension, edema in HF, nephrotic syndrome(kidney disease).
Side Effects: Potassium depletion, orthostatic hypotension, headache, photosensitivity.
Nursing Considerations: Check vitals, esp BP for hypotension before administering. |

Definition
Classification: Anticoagulant
Uses: Treatment of venous thrombosis (blood clot), pulmonary embolism (lung blood clot). Helps prevent blood clots.
Side Effects: Hypersensitivity reaction, dermatitis, uriticaria (hives) esp in those sensitive to asprin. |
