• Old RO - have new CMR printed, assemble all receipts and vouchers, assemble all components list (SL-3), asst the new RO, rectify all discrepancies w/ SupO
• New RO - obtain a copy of CMR, personally inventory all items by serial # and SL-3 components, assemble and verify all receipts and vouchers, request an extension if necessary, sign CMR within 15 calendar days

• having subordinate Marine conduct inventory for you
• not conducting an inventory at all
• not identifying all account discrepancies during acceptance
• requesting changes to account w/o proper documentation
• not ensuring SL-3 items are complete

• the Marine will be advised in writing by a commissioned officer NOT in his chain of command and the receipt of the advice will be acknowledged in writing by the individual
• the Marine will be advised in writing of the right to consult with a judge advocate concerning the reimbursement.  If a judge advocate is not available, or if teh Marine waives his rights to consult with the judge advocate, a written statement/waiver will be attached to the voluntary consent for reimbursement
• Marine takes the written certification to the SupO and reimburses the govt

will be conducted NLT 48 hours (72 hrs involving weekend or holidays)

• The CO appts inventory board consisting of 1 or more officers or SNCO to conduct the inventory (Sgts can conduct inventory of Sgt and below)
• govt prop will be assembled and insp then remove and turn in to SupO
• Upon compl of inventory, name, grade, SSN of individual conducting inventory will be printed or typed on form; the original of the inventory will be signed in the designated block by the senior mbr conducting inventory
• continuous chain of receipts will be maintained until final disposition has been made. Copy will be in mbr's OQR/SRB

• origional inventory rpt placed in mbr's SRB/OQR w/ all docs related to the personal effects of the mbr
• one signed copy will be placed inside the container
• copy retained by the cmdr or other official directing inventory
• copy furnished to the personal effects and baggage custodian for the establishment of the case file and retained
• storage containers are marked, tagged, with mbr's name, grade, SSN, status, est time of rtn if known
• pending resolution, personal effects will be afforded safekeeping (must be secured w/lock and under supervision of SupO)
