Dynamic Character

Definition

a character that changes throughout the work

 

i.e. Macbeth at the begining of the novel would not kill and especially wouldnt kill his king and betray his king. At the end he is killing everyone

Definition

a character that never changes.

 

i.e. Simon (LOTF) he never changes and always stays unique and arsty even when all the other boys become savage. He was not able to survive becasue he didnt conform and he was killed.

i.e. the island

i.e. everything going on outside the island like WWII and evil human nature

a part of an actor's lines supposedly not heard by others on the stage and intended only for the audience.

 

Macbeth says that he wants the stars to hide his deep and dark desires in an aside and this shows the audience how he is nervous that people will knwo he wants to be king and is willing to kill for it

A dramatic or literary form of discourse in which a character talks to himself or herself or reveals his or her thoughts without addressing a listener.

 

In a soliloquy Macbeth debates whether or not he should kill Duncan and by then end of it decides that he wont kill Duncan until his wife reconvinces him again

a secondary character that when you compare it to the main character we understand more about the main character

 

Banquo is a foil for macbeth because he is uneffected by the witches predections while Macbeth who is naiive is really effected by it.
