Initiative vs guilt, occurs during the preschool years, as preschool children they encounter a widening social world, they face new challenges that require active, purposeful behavior. Children are asked to assume responsibility for their bodies and their behavior and therefore take initiative, feelings of guilt may arise if the child if irresponsible and made to feel too anxious. |
