- Patient teaching on S/S of hypo & hyper regarding over or underreplacement of the hormone therapy
- Diet teaching for low calorie, cholesterol, & saturated fat intake, fiber/increased fluid if constipated
- Provide warm environment
- Avoid sedatives/opiod analgesics r/t an increased sensitivity to these types of medications
- Monitor for OD of thyroid medications characterized by manifestations of HYPERthyroidism and to report these findings IMMEDIATELY
