Introduction to Demonstrative Pronouns |
|
Definition
Things to Remember:
1. a pronoun takes the place of a noun
2. memorize well the forms and endings of pronouns, which are often related to nouns
3. when translating a pronoun, follow the same rules as with nouns. For example, if it is in the accusative case, translate it so:
Video senatorem. I see the senator.
Video eum. I see him.
In both cases, the direct object is expressed in the accusative case and therefore is fulfilling the same role within the sentence; the only difference lies in the use of the pronoun as that regards style and diction. |
