2 and 4 wragg square houses are the only two survivors of Aiken row, seven identical rental houses built after 1832 by Gov. William Aiken.
The houses were known as the seven days of the week because each of the houses supported the cost of Gov Aiken's house at 48 Elizabeth St. for each day of the week. |

Wragg Square refers to the houses located along the north side of Wragg mall. Once was an open one acre space donated to the public by the Wragg family in 1801. For a time in the late 19th century the park was called Aiken park for Gov. William Aiken Jr. whose house is at the east end. |

This two and a half story frame house stood at 63 President St. and was built for barbara Quinnan the main rooms have mantels with engaged colums typical of the period. The half story extends over the piazza which is typically an unusual feature. |
