Reflective System: System II- voluntary parts of our brains. Processes suggestions offered by automatic system. Makes final decisions and chooses where to allocate our attention. |

Definition
Associative Strategy: Monitor body functions, heart rate, breathing, tension, form. Correlated with faster running performances.
Dissociative Strategy: Distraction and tuning out (daydreaming.) Does not increase probability of injury, decreases fatigue and boredom while increasing enjoyment and frequency. |
