Every person manufacturing, compounding, processing, selling, dispensing or otherwise disposing of drugs in Schedules I, II, III, IV or V shall take a complete and accurate inventory of all stocks of Schedules I through V drugs on the date he fist engages in business!

A new inventory shall be made at least every two years of all stocks on hand of Schedules I through V drugs. The biennial inventory shall be taken on any date which is within two years of the previous biennial inventory.

Is an outgoing PIC required by law to take complete inventory of scheduled drugs?

"Although not required by law or regulation, an outgoing PIC shall have the opportunity to take a complete and accurate inventory of all schedule II through V controlled substances on hand on the date he ceases to be the PIC, unless the owner submits written notice to the board shwoing good cause as to why this opportunity should not be allowed."

All executed order forms, prescriptions, and inventories of Schedule II through V drugs shall be maintained at the same address as the stock of drugs to which the records pertain.

All inventories required shall be signed and dated by the person thaking the inventory and shall indicate whether the inventory was taken prior to the opening of business or after close of business.
