Definition
1. Place client in side-lying or supine position 2. Put hand on anterior hip 3. Identify the greater trochanter and place palm at this site 4. Keep palm on greater trochanter and point index finger toward client's anterior superior iliac spine and fan out other three fingers 5. Form a "V" area with the index finger separated from the other 3 fingers 6. Inject at 90 degree angle within the "V" area. 7. Always ASPIRATE with an IM injection |
