Focused on fun and social aspects, not enforcement. Players still responsible for following rules, but penalties less sever, and focus is on education and sportsmanship. Judges should be more lenient about chatter, but overt strategic or disruptive statements are still illegal. |

Significant cash prizes, pro points, invitations to Professional events. Players are expected to know rules and be familiar with policies and procedures, but unintentional errors are not punished severely. Protect the interests of all players by providing event integrity, while also recognizing not all players intimately familiar with pro level structure. |

Large cash awards, prestige, and other benefits. Players held to higher standard of behavior and technically correct play. Offenses receive a harsher penalty even for minor errors. |

Alerts judges and players involved that a problem has occurred and keeps a record of the infraction in the dci penalty db. Time extension issued if ruling takes more than a minute. |

Issued in situations where the procedure to correct takes significant amount of time, or where it is impossible to continue the game. Also used for infractions that have a high probability for advantage. Ends current game immediately and player who committed infraction is considered to have lost the game and may choose to play or draw if applicable in the next game of that match. If issued before match begins neither player may use sideboards for the first game. Applied to game the offense occurred unless players have begun a new game or tournament is between rounds. then it is applied to the players next game. |

Issued for activity that damages the integrity of a tournament as a whole, excessive repeat offenses, or severe unsporting conduct. May also be applied to spectator or other bystander. Can occur without proof of action with Head Judge's determination. Competitive and Professional events all DQs must be reported to DCI investigations Manager, Regular only Unsporting Conduct DQ must be reported but any DQ should be entered into DCIR or WER as usual. Removed from standings and does not get prizes unless they were already received. |
