Why did the Industrial Revolution happen first in Great Britain?

Definition
Britain had a plentiful and steady supply of iron and coal. Their agricultural methods produced an overabundance of foodstuffs which resulted in the decrease of famine and a dramatic population increase.

How did science and technology change society?

Definition
Laborers no longer had to hand craft their clothing, grow their own food or walk long distances on foot. Also, vaccines were invented which saved countless lives from disease. Working in facrories was risky though, as many workers were either seriously injured or died.

Definition
Many rural people moved out of their farms and into cities to be closer to their work places. Factories were built and people build homes near them. That is how cities developed.

Definition
Jethro Tull was known for his invention of the Seed Drill, which performed three jobs at once. As it as dragged by a horse, the machine digs holes into the dirt, then it places seeds into said holes, then covers the seeds up. Amazing!

James Watt was recognized by his improvement on Newcomen's steam engine. This bright man made the engine more effiecient and reduced its fuel consumption by 70%. Wow!

How did the conditions created by the Industrial Revolution change the way people saw the world?

Definition
Smelly fecal matter in the streets, disgusting ponds and other bodies of water. Also, before any reforms, child labor was common and the children operated in harsh working conditions. I can guess that many people were disgusted.
