Definition

Definition: There are three main types of mining (long wall mining, shaft mining and pillar mining) they are all dangerous for humans.

Sentence: Be careful when near mining for safety warnings towards human causes.

Example: Ores (metal elements), Precious Stones (diamonds), Building Stones (Granite) and Solid Fuels (Coal)

Defintion: Cutting down all the trees

Sentence: There is a major problem with deforestation around the world and many tribes are loosing their homes.

Examples: Population Growth/Expansion, Agriculture, Soil Erosion

Definition: Farming impacts the land in a variety of negative ways but it can be done sustainably.

Sentence: Agriculture is the main industry, generally combined with cattle-raising.

Example 1: Conventional Agriculture

Definition

Definition: When there are too many herbivores for a given area.

Sentence: Overgrazing is also practice of grazing too many livestock for too long a period on land unable to recover its vegetation.

Examples: The U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management

Definition: Loss of forests due to building cities and results in "heat islands".

Sentence: Urbanization is also about population shifting from rural to urban areas and adapting to changes.

Examples: In the United Kingdom, theres some new urbanization like Swindon, Wiltshire, Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire

Definition: All land serves a purpose, it may filter water, hold ground water or supply nutrients for a forest.

Sentence: Land use is the natural environment or wilderness into built environment such as settlements and semi-natural habitats.

Examples: Arable Fields, Pastures and Managed Woods

Definition: One that does NOT naturally replenish in a lifetime.

Sentence: Non-renewable resources in that their use is not sustainable because their formation takes billions of years.

Examples: Fossil Fuels, Oil, Natural Gas, Coal and Nuclear Energy

Definition

Definition: Natuarally replenishes itself over time.

Sentence: Sunlight/the sun is a renewable resource because we can use it to generate electricity without using all of it up.

Examples: Oxygen, Solar Energy, Biomass, Fresh Water

Definition

Definition: One that can be processed and made into a new product

Sentence: Many items are recyclable resources use to create new things so it won't be waste.

Example 1: Aluminium, Paper, Glass

Example 2: Iron, Plastics, Textiles
