NVP.... -should not be used in patients with mod to severe hepatic impairment -should not be used in women with pre-ART CD4 count >250 etc...
USe NVP and ABC together with caution because both can cause HSRs withing first few weeks of therapy
ZDV can cause bone marrow suppression, lipoatrophy, amd rarely lactic acidosis with hepatic steatosis
LPV/r (BID) + ZDV/3TC is the preferred regimen for pregnant women
MVC - Perform tropism testing before initiation of therapy with MVC. Can be considered in patients who have only CCR5-tropic virus. |
