 Definition
  • becomes part of the mesenchyme (primitvie CT) that differentiates into the cartilage, cranial neurons, glia, and CT of face
  • forms some parts of the teeth, and the bones of the middle ear and jaw

 Definition
  • ectoderm, endoderm, mesoderm, and CNC become organized into the pharyngeal apparatus, also known as branchial apparatus
  • this is the embryonic structure that will become parts of the face, oral cavity, and neck
  • development begins at 2weeks of gastation
