I totally understand, may I ask why you aren’t interested? |

Term
Not interested and they are still talking to you: |

Yea, I totally understand, most people we talk to aren’t interested in solar but they do want to know about the new tax credits for homeowners. Out of curiosity, would you be interested in protecting yourself against inflation? |

Great, are they home right now? If no: Okay, are you two usually here together in the morning or afternoon? |

That’s exactly why people are switching to solar right now. There is no big down payment anymore and if you’re not saving money from month one then you don’t even qualify. |

Great, is it next year? (if not) That is actually why a ton of people are getting solar! You are able to get a 30% tax credit and it increases the equity of your home. Double whammy! We can quickly build out a proposal for you and show you all the numbers down to the penny! |

I totally understand your thinking there. Of course solar needs the sun to make sense. What we do is have the engineers build out the proposals. With google earth 3D they take into account how much sun the panels get in the locations and they build accordingly. If indeed we can’t save you money because you don't get enough sun, I'll call you up and let you know. |

I'm glad to hear that. That’s actually why people have been going solar. Are you familiar with the tax credit? So you may know that you get 30% back as a federal tax credit for your solar system or on the cost of improving your home so it’s equipped or a solar system. So when you need to get a new roof (hand quotations) to go solar, you’re actually able to get a 30% tax credit on your roof too! |

I’ve talked with someone before: |

What was it about their solar presentation that made you not go solar? |

Term
It doesn’t save us money/ We don’t spend much on energy |
|
Definition
When did you have the proposal? Oh that makes sense, in the past few years they have increased the output of each individual panel so since you have FPL, you’d definitely be saving something. We can have our engineers build out a proposal |

I’ve heard about a bad experience from someone with solar: |
|
Definition
Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Can you tell me a bit more about it? Have you seen a proposal for yourself? Well that is similar to hearing one bad story about someone going to college, then not getting any other perspective and always thinking that college is bad.. But there are millions of success stories! |

I know what you mean. Before I started doing my research I thought about all the materials needed, mining, manufacturing and shipping to get panels on a roof. When I dug a bit further I realized that over the next 25yrs of solar production (which is what the panels are fully covered for), liquid natural gas, which you can agree is a lot cleaner than oil or coal production actually produces 13X more pollution than that of solar! Pretty crazy. It’s not 0 emission total but it is 13X less than the next best alternative. The amount of energy that is used to produce a solar panel is produced by the panel in right about 200 days of it on the roof! |

I totally understand. If you were 90 and paid by check that could be a problem. This allows you to store your extra energy on the grid and since Florida is a 1-1 buy back, it's a pretty great deal to only pay a few $ a month. If you want fully off the grid I can show you the batteries but really they don’t make sense for most people since they cost about 12000 and for a home your size you’d need 2 or 3. |

We’ll do it in the future: |

I totally understand what you mean, everyone has the best intentions of doing it in the future because they’re busy right now. However, the best time to plant a tree is yesterday. Right now legislators are trying to pass a law to get rid of net metering in Florida and the only reason it didn’t pass this year is because DeSantis vetoed it. It’s likely to pass next year, and anyone who has solar prior to its passage will be grandfathered in for 25 years. Obviously you know that energy rates are going up every year and so it’s better to lock in rates now, but if you try to do this next year solar might not make sense if you’re looking to save money. |

I totally understand how you can see that as a problem. What is great is you don’t need to live here for the full 25 yrs to get the benefits. From day 1, if you qualify, you will be saving on a monthly basis. Also, it increases the equity of your house as well! |
