Each tried to bribe him, Hera offers domination, Athena offers wisdom or military distinction, and Aphrodite offers him the most beautiful woman in the world. He chooses Aphrodite and gets Helen. The power of Aphrodite made Helen leave her husband, daughter, and reputation.
