"Muses on Helikon"
Muses, one playing a lyre (phorminx) while seated on a rock, the other standing. Bird (possibly a nightingale). Standing muse appears to be moving her right hand in time to the music. Rock is labeled Helicon, which is the home of the muses.

Woman and warrior.
Warrior with a Corinthian helmet and spear stands across from a woman holding a ribbon, the type that is shown hanging from funerary baskets and decorating grave stelae. Most likely the warrior is departing or preparing for a visit to the tomb. It is implied that the warrior departs, dies, is buried, and regular visits to his tomb will be made. Suspended oinochoe are depicted at the top. |
