a huge role; they show their power

through voting

Oligarchy

The role of the citizen is limited; government

decisions are made by a small group.

Autocratic

The citizen has no role in the

government; one dictator makes all

of the decisions.

Parliamentary Democracy

The head of government is the leader of the

majority party in the legislature. 

This person is known as the prime minister.

Monarch

Presidential Democracy

The head of state is chosen

independent from the legislature; 

The head of state is the president.
