there was suffering all around him however

he realized life is suffering, and founded the Eight Fold Path.

he did not consider himself a religious symbol in Buddhism, but once he died maybe people viewed him as one.

close to hinduism, however buddhists do not believe dietes are responcible. they also reject the caste system becasue they believe in Nirvana (spritual enlightenment). it is best described as an infinity symbol, just like hinduism.

Definition
they believe salvation comes from oneness of a soul, atman, in the ultimate universe (heaven), Brahman. they must be liberated and recieve Moksha from reincarnation, Samsura. Samsora is influenced by karma, and dharma (fulfilling life duties). they believe in ahimsa, all life is sacred. they worship cows (serenity and strength), and some are vegetarian. Karma and Dharma influence the Caste System.

Definition

1. evolved from judaism, both follow the 10 commandments. Beilieve Jesus is the messiah (savior) was Jesus. Jews do not.

2.Jesus was sent to redeem the world of sin. This has led the Christian faith to proclaim that there is a Holy Trinity, formed by the Creator (Father), Redeemer (Son), and Sustainer (Holy Spirit). Christians believe that these three entities are all part of a single higher power.

3.Christians take part in sacraments, which are religious practices such as baptism, and receiving the Eucharist.

- in mecca, gabriel, an angels, gave the word of allah (the god) to Mohamed, people feared his preeching, and he fled to Medina. this flee was called Hegira in islamic history and is key to the creation of islam

- he returned to Mecca with followers and declared a jihad (holy war).

  1. Confession of Faith: The belief that "there is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is His prophet."
  2. Prayer: Muslims must pray five times per day, facing towards Mecca.
  3. Charity: Muslims must give alms to the poor, and support the local Mosque by donating a portion of their income.
  4. Fasting: During the Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, all Muslims must fast during daylight hours, except the very young or sick.
  5. Pilgrimage: If possible financially, each Muslim must make a hajj, or holy pilgrimage, to the city of Mecca.
