First Motto was chosen in Latin :Nil Separta Bit," meaning "Nothing shall separate us." It was later changer to Greek, omicron upsilon delta epsilon nu, delta iota alpha sigma pi alpha sigma epsiolon iota, eta mu alpha sigma, meaning "nothing shall ever tear us asunder."
Also, "the pi kappa phi fraternity journal," was begun in 1909 by Henry Patrick Wagener and would later change its name to "the star and lamp," in 1911
